Notice and Apology Regarding Unauthorized Server Access (2nd Report)

We would like to inform you regarding the status of OSG's response to the "Notice of System Outage due to Malware Attacks" announced on April 14, 2023.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to all parties involved.

1. Overview and cause of incident

In the early morning of April 12th, we detected that the server managed and operated by our company had been illegally accessed by ransomware from a third party, causing a failure in our internal system. In order to prevent the damage from spreading, we immediately took measures such as stopping the server and disconnecting the network from external parties.

Simultaneously, we are investigating the situation, causes, and routes of damage with the cooperation of third-party experts. Although we cannot completely deny the possibility that customers and personal information have been jeopardized due to the unauthorized access, we have not confirmed that information is compromised at this point. Regarding this situation, we have consulted with the Aichi Prefectural Police and submitted a report to the Personal Information Protection Commission.

2. Current response and situation

With the cooperation of third-party cybersecurity experts, we are continuing to investigate the details of the cause and route, as well as the exposure of customer and personal information.

Although orders and shipments have been slightly affected, production is operating as usual and is not impacted. At this time, we expect that the impact of this situation on our business performance to be minor.
